A gorgeous creamy soap with soft calendula petals throughout the mix. Calendula is a member of the marigold family and has been used to heal and sooth skin for centuries. It is one of the chief vulneraries of the herbalist's dispensary and makes a wonderful addition to soap. The soap is also made with the delicate, pale oil from the apricot kernel and is subtly scented with the essential oils of citrus like bergamot and sweet orange as well as a hint of lemongrass. (Made from olive oil, coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, castor oil, essential oils, kaolin clay, calendula flowers, achiote seeds. lye.)

The fruit of the rose plant, rosehip, is known for being particularly rich in vitamin C but it is also used widely in skin care. Oil of the rosehip is much prized for its healing properties. The soap contains finely ground rosemary which imparts a gentle exfoliating feel. Essential oils of rosemary and tea tree finish off this fresh and vibrant soap. (Made from olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, castor oil, essential oils, rosemary, green clay, kaolin clay, spirulina, lye.)
INGREDIENTS OF SOS SOAPS
A quick glance at the labels of commercial soaps reveals a long list of chemicals that we routinely use on our bodies. We have become so accustomed to these chemicals that people are often surprised how different handmade natural soaps feel. SOS Herbs uses only natural ingredients and plant-based oils to make their pure soaps. SOS soaps are also environmentally friendly. No palm oil or animal oils are used in our soaps as they are in most commercial soaps. Oils derived from plants are packed with phytochemicals that can be highly beneficial for the skin. These phytochemical profiles differ markedly from plant to plant and so a range of oils is specially blended for use in every soap. Pure essential oils are then added to every bar of soap and bring with them the healing power of plants. These are the signature ingredient of our soaps. These beautiful oils contain the essence of the plant and bring their unique qualities directly to your skin. Other natural ingredients including clays, dried herbs, oats, lemon and honey are added depending on the soap variety. There are NO synthetic fragrances used in SOS soaps.
OILS
The vast majority of supermarket soaps are made using palm oil. There is no palm oil used in SOS products. SOS Herbs uses only the following oils in their range of soaps:
Olive Oil: From the Ancient Greeks onwards societies have recognised the health giving attributes of olive oil. Conditioning and high in antioxidants this beautiful oil is the principal ingredient in SOS soaps.
Coconut Oil: The creaminess of coconut oil is well known. It gives added hardness to the soap and helps create a rich lather.
Apricot Kernel Oil: A gentle and moisturising oil rich in vitamins A, C and E, all highly beneficial for the skin.
Avocado Oil: Avocados have been widely used for their health nurturing properties for centuries. The oil is highly valued for the skin. Rich in A, B and D vitamins, its inclusion helps create a creamy soap.
Almond Oil*: Gentle on the skin but readily absorbed, sweet almond oil is a highly conditioning, nutrient-packed addition to soaps.
Shea Butter: A little bit of luxury. The solidified oil of the African Shea tree, known for its moisturising properties, is widely used in high quality cosmetics and soaps. Adds a silky feeling to soaps.
Castor Oil: Oil from the Castor Bean plant gives a full lather to soaps.
Macadamia Nut Oil*: This excellent and underutilised oil produced in Australia is rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6 oils. Adds hardness and is high in antioxidants. It is an excellent addition to soap.
* People with nut allergies may wish to choose soaps with no nut-derived oils but topical issues are not common.
